DX1MC is helping promote amatuer radio across the country and the region by offering the same thing Radio Scouting offers in North America, Free radios to all newly licenced scouts. DX1MC also is installing Starlink internet to help gain connectivity for council offered STEM programs for scouts and youth.
Starlink will be at a few locations and also a mobile version to help teach STEM remotely. Rover Circle 23 is well on its way to help support developing amateur radio in the community and already helping develop youth through amateur radio. During JOTA/JOTI 2023 Manila Council Amateur Radio Club had over 400 scouts attend the events. This year the club has radio via HF and VHF along with Digital communications via radio. They also held activities for JOTI and had a round robin of events such as flag communication, radio communication, morse code, and others.
The scouts ages ranged from 6 years old to 26 years old and all scouts were able to have hands on experiences at each of the learning stations. Learning STEM was a big part of this event. During JOTA/JOTI, the club partnered with W1PTG and took the FCC Amateur Radio Exam. There were over 25 scouts to took the exam and 11 scouts passed the exam.
